Spirulina Lowers Blood Pressure

Spirulina is a tiny microalgae. High blood pressure is a huge problem. This tiny supplement may be a safe, effective answer to this huge problem.

Spirulina is a blue-green microalgae that is absolutely loaded in easily digested, highly absorbable nutrients.

A recent meta-analysis revealed that spirulina significantly reduces total cholesterol, the heart harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while significantly increasing the heart healthy HDL cholesterol (Pharmacological Research. July 2023;193:106802).

The newest research now establishes that supplementing spirulina also reduces blood pressure.

The systematic review and meta-analysis included only controlled studies of the effect of spirulina on blood pressure in adults. The results showed that spirulina reduces systolic blood pressure by 4.41mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 2.84 mmHg.

Even better news is that the reductions in blood pressure were more impressive in people with high blood pressure, in people who were overweight, in people who were over 50 and in studies that lasted more than 8 weeks.

This study adds to the evidence for the health benefits of spirulina and, in particular, the health benefits of spirulina for your heart.
